Gun violence has been taking a toll on our community for years. Gun-related violence threatens our most fundamental human right, the right to life. Unfortunately, our CHA campuses have lost several students to gun violence in recent weeks. We know everyone in the Covenant House Academy family joins us in sending our deepest condolences to the families and friends of these students. We will do everything possible to support them through this difficult time.
The loss of a relative, friend or classmate is incredibly difficult. If you have lost someone to violence and are finding it hard to cope, please speak with your teacher, counselor or any CHA staff member. We will do everything possible to help you.
Covenant House Academy is committed to creating safe schools, free of violence, where students can learn and grow without fear. Through our students, we strive to be agents of nonviolence in the community as well, in the hopes of creating a more peaceful world for all.
